Description

Puffin (Formerly S14S G2)

For 2023, we have revamped the footwell of our popular S14S G2 to include the 3 point footboard for responsive steering and comfort of use. The puffin hull has very good primary and secondary stability for a wide range of abilities. Long efficient water lines to get you to your destination quickly and the rocker profile makes it easy to maneuver. The Puffin can fit tall and short paddlers alike with its low seat hump and adjustable footboard. Included are standard anchor points for optional thigh braces. 2 standard water resistant hatches provide plenty of storage for your weekend adventures.

Over stern steering is standard and understern steering is an option for big water paddling.

A closeable fast draining Debrito Bailer rounds out this amazing boat.

Please note that as Stellar transitions from the G2 to the Puffin, both versions are shipping. Please inquire for availability if you specifically want the Puffin.

The Stellar 14' Sit-on-Top (S14S) is a recreational sit-on-top kayak that makes entry and exit a breeze by eliminating the need to squeeze in and out of a cockpit. The steering system on the boat is very comfortable and responsive too, keeping you on track to where you want to go!

Unlike any other boat of this length, the S14S has the speed of a much longer boat, but beginners can feel comfortable paddling it. Two water tight hatches allow for modest storage for day tripping and overnight adventures(Bow hatch is optional as shown in the photo above). Its short length and light weight make it ideal for those who want a high performance boat that is easy to carry, car-top, and store. A comfortable Clamshell(as seen in photo above) seat is an easy optional upgrade for the ultimate experience in comfort.

Layup options:

Alpha - Woven

Weight: 26 lbs / 11.8 kg

Description: Extremely stiff and light - The ultimate paddling machine that is also easy to move off of the water. Clear finished, heat cured epoxy woven Toray 3k Carbon Fiber laminate with Nomex® Honeycomb Core.

Excel

Weight: 26.9 lbs / 12.2 kg

Description: Very stiff and light, yet more affordable than the Alpha. Kevlar® adds impact strength to the laminate - Gelcoat finished heat cured epoxy Kevlar® and Fiberglass laminate with Nomex® Honeycomb Core. Great for racing, or those looking for a light boat, but not as impact resistant as the Multi-sport or Advantage constructions.

Multi-Sport

Weight: 36.4 lbs / 16.5kg

Description: Single skin laminate hull made of Carbon & Kevlar® fabric, with clear gelcoat finish, and the deck is the standard Advantage construction. The hull is designed to be flexible and durable, but creates a stiff boat that can take some abuse in class I and II rapids and shallows, but is also at home in the ocean or the flats. The Surf Ski Multi-Sport construction comes standard with an over-stern rudder, as well as a flush mounted Andersen Super mini-bailer.

Advantage

Weight: 34.2 lbs / 15.5 kg

Description: Great combination of weight, stiffness, durability and cost. Gelcoat finished heat cured infused epoxy Fiberglass and Soric® core laminate is very tough and resists against punctures. A great race boat on a tight budget. The Advantage hits the mark for price to weight ratio for most kayak paddlers.

The Stellar Difference!
